TATRY PLAY 2026

Three days, dozens of computers, players from Slovakia and the Czech Republic, and an atmosphere that simply can’t be streamed.

In April 2026, we hosted the second edition of Tatry Play — an esports weekend that proved this sport has found its place in the Liptov region too.

A Weekend Played Live

From April 10 to 12, Humno Demänová belonged to the players. Tatry Play 2026 brought a BYOC LAN party format (BYOC = bring your own computer). Everyone brought their own computer, and for three days, they played, competed and lived under one roof. The excitement came from Counter-Strike 2 and EA FC 26 tournaments, while the rest was all about the community programme and something the online world simply cannot replace: teammates within reach, shared evenings and conversations that don’t fit into a chat.

The Infrastructure Behind the Event

For an event of this scale, the details guests don’t see make all the difference. Reliable connectivity for dozens of machines at once, a space that can adapt to both the gaming zone and relaxation, and accommodation right on site. That’s exactly why Tatry Play takes place with us: players can go from their tournament chair to their bed at Hotel Demänová in just a few seconds and continue where they left off in the morning. Meanwhile, the kitchen keeps pace with a completely different kind of performance.

Technology Ready for a World-Class Tournament

Behind three days of gaming stood infrastructure rarely seen in Slovakia: a fully fibre-optic network throughout the venue, professional Juniper networking equipment, and gaming servers capable of handling 80 players competing simultaneously without a hitch. And there was a Slovak first: for the first time at an esports event in Slovakia, a Starlink satellite connection was also part of the event’s connectivity. The technical infrastructure was provided by the PlayUP team in cooperation with the Tatry Play organisers.

Esports Belongs in Liptov

The second edition showed that the esports community in Slovakia is growing and that it appreciates events organised with the same level of care as a conference or a wedding. We’re happy to be part of it and look forward to the next edition.
