New Ambassador of Slovak Wines
The title of Slovak Wine Ambassador 2026 has been awarded to Radovan Komorovský, who takes over from Marek Šimáško, who held the title in 2025. This prestigious award recognises a person who actively promotes the reputation and quality of Slovak winemaking – and this year, it has gone to someone we know very well at Hotel Demänová.
A Story That Began Here
Radovan first came to Hotel Demänová as a hotel academy student for practical training. Even then, it was clear that wine was more than just a subject on his timetable.
Today, he is the winner of several sommelier competitions, the current Slovak Junior Sommelier Champion, and has gained valuable experience at Kempinski Hotel.
We are proud to have been part of his journey – and, perhaps, a little proud of ourselves for recognising the talent we had right here from the beginning.
A Champion You Can Pour Yourself
Let’s raise another glass – this time to the new champion of the National Salon of Wines of Slovakia in the sparkling wine category. The winner is Sekt Zero Dosage Methode Traditionelle 2019 by Víno Matyšák.
And the good news? You can find it on our wine list. Come and taste the wine that beat all other sparkling wines in Slovakia – ideally paired with dinner at a restaurant recognised by Falstaff and Gault&Millau.
